Introduction

Brazilian Federal Law 12651, which dates from May 25, 2012, establishes rules for the protection of native vegetation in permanent preservation areas, legal reserves, areas of restricted use, forest exploitation areas, and addresses related issues. In this context, rural properties must comply with the instructions established by the legislation. This page gathers not only information to facilitate the enforcement of the Law, but also technical content to restore areas, such as restoration strategies, ongoing experiences, suggested native plants, and technological solutions by Embrapa and partners, as well as best agricultural practices that will contribute to the sustainable development of rural properties in different biomes. As it targets local national audiences, most of the content is in Portuguese.
